Sinopsis

La historia de un skatepark traza la larga lucha de los skaters de Northfield, Minnesota, por conseguir un lugar permanente donde practicar su deporte. Filmada en estrecha colaboración con la generación más reciente de skaters, la película documenta sus esfuerzos para lograr convencer a las autoridades y la gente del pueblo de la importancia de tener un skatepark para los jóvenes. Una voz en off grabada por los mismos skaters y basada en registros oficiales revela la ineficiencia de un proceso entorpecido por estereotipos pasados de moda y una resistencia apenas solapada hacia ellos. La película cuestiona la reputación de Northfield como pueblo abierto de miras y amigable en vista de la demora de la comunidad en encontrar un sitio para sus propios jóvenes. La historia de un skatepark da cuenta de la resiliencia y perseverancia de los jóvenes, a la vez que expone las victorias y fracasos del proceso cívico en un pueblo como muchos otros en Estados Unidos.
